Late...but better than never: Decorex 2013

Have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The quality (and ingenuity) of the stands were impressive.

Lots of bold graphics and patters, loads of blue and white and plenty of clever detailing on furniture.

Now, if only the organisers would get rid of the Verimark style stands - I don't want to buy a mop when browsing these great exhibitors!

Pretty pretty paper art

I've just realised it's been over 6 weeks since my last post! Ouch. Gotta work on that.... ;0)

I'm working on a very exciting campaign for Ava - and I've taken inspiration from paper art. I love the fact that something so every day and ordinary as a piece of A4 paper can be transformed into a world of pretty things.

I'm also madly in love with the white-on-white look!

Design Indaba Feedback Part 3: Tin Town

I know, I'm taking forever to post about the Indaba! It's been weeks now and I've not even begun to share all the magnificent stalls! (I blame my phone - not playing along in downloading images to my computer...naughty) But here is the next installment: Tin Town. I love their work for so many reasons: whimsical, fantastical designs, all items can be flat packed (great for retailers and consumers alike), innovative designs - these pieces are cute AND practical.... Here are just some of my favourites:

I wish I had a garden - these would go in first!

How great is this? I wonder if they do a double bed size?

Super adorable! (hehe...I think I have that place mat!)

Little Angel for Christmas.

This would be a perfect night light for a nursery.

I want this. Met 'n seer hart!

For more lovely creations, visit Tin Town. (I also love their website intro!)

Like sand in the hourglass...

Nope, it's not the Days of Our Lives! :) I've been spotting these gorgeous hourglasses in some shops, but really I'm looking for these with coloured sand in them. Anyone spotted them somewhere? The Space in Cavendish has white ones, these sexy black ones are from Cecile and Boyds.

I spotted lime green ones in a pic the other day, would love to own a set!

Right now, the week's time has run out (yippee!) and it's the weekend. I hope it's a relaxing one for everyone!

My kind of lounge seating

We all love swings, so why not have one in your home? I can imagine it's perfect for daydreaming and relaxing.

I also love the all white palette - soft pinks, creams, weathered timber: whimsical and beautiful!

*sigh*

Look at these beautiful ceramic goodies available from Cecile & Boyd here in the Mother city. I've seen some of these also at The Space in Cavendish.
I'm sure I've made it known before that I love collections. Different types. Right now I am building on my 'white' collection, all manner of white ceramic goodies (all exceptionally pretty on their own). I've grouped them all together on my aunt's dark timber coffee table and love it!

My favourite on this table is most definitely the big protea head. I have a little obsession with proteas, so these lovelies are just the thing to add to my collection! (Bokkie, hint hint)
